GANG RESEARCH.NET

GANGRESEARCH.NET Logo

This website is created by John Hagedorn, Associate Professor of Criminology, Law, and Justice and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Illinois-Chicago’s Great Cities Institute, to provide quality research on gangs to students, academics, public officials, the media, and the general public. The site seeks to dispel stereotypes and provide analysis of the role of gangs in the information age, the wars on drugs and terror, the salience of race in understanding gangs, and the nature of post-industrial violence. It is also a repository for documents of the Chicago Gang History Project.
