Ceiba Group is a secular, ecumenical, non-governmental, apolitical and non-profit Guatemalan organization that accompanies communities in preventing of drug abuse and youth violence.
Egidio Mita Sanic 19 (center at computer) is one of Grupo Ceiba's most talented computer programmers. He plans to open his own repair and design business in his hometown of San Juan Comalapa when he finishes he high school and technical degrees in Ceiba's alternative school.
Programs include Alternative education for those who cannot access the formal education sector, Technological Training and bi-lingual English Spanish business education. Grupo Ceiba operates in both rural and urban communities bringing Internet access and technological expertise to youth seeking opportunities and alternatives to gang recruitment.
