The Great Wall Mural project directed by Chicana artist Judy Baca depicts the ethnic history of the people of California from prehistoric times to the 1950s. Over 400 teenagers of diverse social and economic backgrounds, and around 50 artists collaborated on this project. It took over five summers to complete (1976-1983), and is the world’s longest mural, measuring at one half-mile in length.
